Science based education
In 2011 I was talking to Cristine Barreto about ways to bring more technology to the classroom. Faster! We concluded that current institutional and public efforts to do it in Brazil weren’t fast enough so we decided to create a company. There were several technology companies in education already. But we knew none was leveraging the latest discoveries on neuroscience and evolutionary psychology to improve learning.
So we partnered with neuroscientist Marília Zaluar and technologist Ricardo Schneider to create Mobile Brain. Our first client was the largest publishing house in Brazil. They wanted to bring the content from their magazines and books to the, at the time, blooming market of cell phon
es.
The framework we created allowed the client to create t
he fastest growing educational platform in Brazil, with +700k users in a year.
After we built the platform, we were in a unique position to produce content for it and we designed killer courses: a dating course together with iD’Or institute and home-officing (10 years before the pandemic forced
everyone to stay home) with no one less then Domenico de Masi.
After this meteoric success, the partners decided to explore other interests and Mobile Brain went hibernation mode.
Created the framework using neuroscience and evolutionary biology concepts to bring content to feature mobile phones in 2012.
